Image Bank- Contrast

I feel that these images below demonstrate and convey contrast.

Although this photo is of a simple flower, contrast is created by the difference in colour. The flower is the only coloured part of the picture as the surroundings is in black and white.

This photo is of a cat and a dog and the contrast is the difference in species which are complete opposites to each other. As well as this, there is the difference in backgrounds, black and white, this adds even more contrast to the photograph.

One of the glasses is full whilst the other empty. Although it is a very simple concept, the simplicity of it makes the contrast so very obvious. In addition, there is contrast in the light as there are lighter and darker areas within the composition.

Old and young. This contrast is shown through the difference in the hands. One hand is larger with wrinkles and a darker skin tone whilst the other is the complete opposite. The other is small, smooth and a lighter tone.

Again this photograph shows contrast between age but also gender. The female is much younger than the man where as the man is much older and is simply expressed through the wrinkles across the face.

The contrast in this photograph is between the colours, the bright green sweet surrounded by the dark brown beans. Despite there being only one green sweet and many more brown beans, the contrast is very easily conveyed because of the big difference in colour.
