 is the design or way that shapes and objects are put together to form a composition.

 This pattern is an arranged pattern because each piece has a specific position, however it could be argued that there is a degree of randomness by the red piece in the pattern.

 

A natural pattern which has a degree of randomness to it because the different positions of the black seeds and the white marks throughout.

 

A random pattern is created in this image by the contrast between the lightness and darkness  but also the various widths and shapes of the stripes.

 

This pattern is composed of lines and the pattern is organises because each line is arrange at an angle to the centre line.

 

 

 

My definition of pattern:

a design composed or repeating features which occur either deliberately or naturally (e.g. Nature and man made).
